"So the first step in painting the living room is going to be removing the old hardware. I think you're probably going to find on the trim, in a lot of older places in particular, they tend to leave things like curtain hangers and stuff like this and actually paint over them. So we want to get that stuff off of there just to give us a nice smooth surface. The tools we'll be using are pretty standard. We've got a hammer, couple of screwdrivers. Phillips and regular. And a pair of pliers. So let's get started. So once I get all this stuff off of here the actual finish will look a lot nicer. Unfortunately these are really cheap screws so they're not coming off as I'd like them to. One little screw and that much trouble. See this really old stuff is buried in a couple coats of paint. It doesn't want to come off but it just takes a little bit of effort. So next we'll go ahead and patch those holes that we just exposed."
