" Hi! My name is Gene; I'm glider flight instructor on behalf of Expert Village. Our object is to just stay straight behind him, and at his same altitude so his wings our on the rise in front of us. Right now, if we have an emergency, he'll rock his wings, and that's a signal for me to release immediately because he has an emergency in tow plane. We're always watching the tow plane to make sure that we're in communication with him visually. Once we get to 200 feet of altitude, we have enough altitude to turn around and go back to the airport. If the rope were to break now, we have plenty of altitude to return to the airport and land on the airport. Our altitude is 1500 feet. We're going to tow to an altitude of 3000 feet and then release. The glider will release from the tow rope. The tow plane will take the tow rope back to the airport with him. Alright, our object is to stay behind the tow plane looking straight down fuselage. When he turns, we turns. When he flies straight, we fly straight. Basically, it's formation flying. "
