"DUSTIN STAAT: Hi. I'm Dustin on behalf of Expert Village. I've been teaching you how to softmod your Xbox. In this first of several segments, I will be showing you how to save games onto your Xbox hard drive. In this case, we'll be using "Need for Speed Underground 2." Keep in mind, this is only legal if you own the games. Go and put the game in your Xbox. Go down to your "evox dash" menu, all the way down to "launch applications." Go ahead and go to "dvd2xbox." From here, press "A" to copy your DVD or CD-R to your hard drive. We're going to go ahead and pick our games. Click "start" to proceed. Depending on the size of the game, the time to do this may vary. If you haven't changed now your Xbox's hard drive, you only have about 10 gigabytes to work with, so you can only save about a game or two. If you want to save more games and or music to your hard drive, watch our other video on putting a bigger hard drive into your Xbox. Once your game is done copying, you'll get this screen. It will also eject your game. Go ahead and remove it from the Xbox console and shut the tray. From here, press "start" to proceed, then go ahead and press your left, right, and black button to get back to your dashboard. It will bring you back to your "evox dash." From here, go ahead and go to "Play Games from Hard Drive." The game you just burned should be listed; in this case, Need for Speed Underground 2. We'll click on it. You've just successfully saved the game into your Xbox hard drive. The benefits of doing this is that games generally load about five times as fast from the hard drive as they do from a CD. Also, you can just load up Xbox and take it anywhere, full of games, not having to drag around every single game you have. Watch our next segment on using your new operating system part 2."
