"Hi, my name is Ed Cody and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I am going to talk to you today a little bit about when to shoot and what time of day to do it. We are talking about outdoor photography. The best two times that I have found is early morning right after the sun comes up or late evening about an hour or 45 minutes before the sun is going down. Those are the most pleasing times to take your child’s portraits. Some examples of this will be on our website codyharris.com. Now in the morning as that sun is coming up the light is more even and more diffused, you will enjoy that. Not only that but your child will probably be in a lot better frame of mind and a lot of good spirit, he has not had all of that day to get that energy all wound up. so morning is usually a very good time to do your child and you will love the way the lighting looks. Now if your child can hang in there towards the evening that is the best lighting. That is a sweet lighting, the golden lighting right before that sun goes down everything is even, it will just kind of reflect up at your child and you will not get those heavy shadows under the eyes or under the nostrils. If you try a little bit of photography or if you have in the mid-day you will see what I am talking about. Those eyes between about 11:30 to 2 or 3 or 4 in the afternoon, that sun is normally so hot, so harsh it is going to give you those portraits that are really not that pleasing. So once again, for a better look at your child, for a better portrait, try the early morning hours or again right before the sun goes down a much better portrait for you. "
