"Hello, my name is Ed Cody and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I am going to talk to you today about lighting for good portraits of your child outside. One of the things that most parents need to focus on is the sun. One of the most nature and best-looking prints that you could do of your child is in your backyard. At the beach on vacation, at the farm with Uncle Lou and Aunt Sue, it just depends on where you are at. And the thing to remember about sunlight is that is a natural light that your are looking for, that is going to give all of the skin tone and the pleasing shadows to your child that you are looking for. The key is, how do you harness that? How do you really make that work for you? Well I will tell you what, if you want to see some of the examples of what we do in our photography studio codyharris.com go to our website and take a look. But back to the sun, what we are really looking for at anytime is you should try to search out what we call an open shade area. That means that the sun is out there and is still going to work on your child, but it is going to work on him in an area where there is an even distribution of light and shade. If you do that, if you keep the sun out there and keep it your friend, but work in the shadow areas, you will gain the advantage of having the sun and a pleasing look. "
