"Hello, this is Ed Cody and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com we are going to talk today about using props, pets and other things into your portrait. If you would like to see an example of what I am talking about, you can go to our website codyharris.com. The main thing to remember on the props or on the pets is to do something that is meaningful to your child. If they are already, use to playing with their favorite teddy bear it will be great and they will do things to it that will be timeless and it will be precious to you and that is what you are looking for. If it is pets, try to catch them in just an environment where they are playing with the pet. Do not try to pose it or stage it, the pets will know that is what you are trying to do and they will run right away from you. So what you are looking for is something natural, get them playing on the rug, out in the backyard chasing them around a little bit, you may eat up some time and some film but you will end up with some priceless images. On the props, keep them small maybe a football or something small that he can handle with. Maybe he is a cowboy guy, he wears a cowboy hat all of the time, film him doing that. a little girl runs around with a little ballerina skirt all of the time, something that is meaningful to you and your child. Use those and you will be glad that you did. "
