Summary: Photograph your kids like a pro! Learn about which types of clothes are best when photographing children in this free photography lesson.
"Hello, my name is Ed Cody and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I am going to talk to you today about your choice of clothing for good children’s portraiture. You know you may have that really neat suit that uncle Bill gave you with the stripes and the dots and all of that, forget it. It is good to wear when he is coming over, but other than that, leave it in the closet. What you are looking for is solid colors, primary colors to kind of liven up the scene or whites are real good, but just something nice and solid. The solid colors if you can do that, then you are going to mainly look at what your child’s facial expressions are giving you, the color of the hair, the style of the hair and your eyes are not going to be drawn to what they are wearing. So once again, keep the clothing simple, keep it timeless and you will enjoy that really well. Forget all of those things like the logos, the schools, maybe some stripes and polka dots, leave that away for playtime. For good timeless portraits, stick to bright solid colors. If you do that, I think that you will find that your prints will all of a sudden start looking a lot better for you and you will start enjoying how your child looks. "
