"Hi my name is Elliott Kwong on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to make a kaleidoscope. When you are looking for mirrors for your kaleidoscope you can't just go to any old department, hardware store and expect to find mirrors in your perfect size for your kaleidoscope. But I went to a hardware store and try to look for pieces of mirror and I found some but they could not cut it into size for me. So what they recommend was I go to a glass and mirror shop. So I had to search online and I had to go to several different mirror shops. Until I found one where they actually sold mirrors. So a lot of these shops are like independent business that you just have to find by yourself. Even when I got there they would cut the mirror into size for me. Cutting it was pretty expensive like $10 per cut. So what the guy recommend was I buy a piece of glass or a piece of mirror and I cut it my self with a glass cutter. So he gave this glass cutter and it was relatively inexpensive, inexpensive about $5. What you just do is there is a little ball at the tip and what you have to do is take your glass cutter and run it along and make a crease. Then you just break the glass yourself. Now there are other things that you can do in substitute of glass mirrors. You can find maybe stainless steel that is really reflective like this that I found. This stainless steel is pretty good. I found this at a hardware store and it was pretty expensive. So and plus you have to take some metal scissors and try to cut it into pieces. So what I really recommend is that you just buy your own mirror as buy a really inexpensive glass cutter and cut yourself. "
