"(Laugh) I'm trying to demonstrate to you an animal at rest. However, my dog is very excited because I have her special favorite treat in my hand. So, if you are trying to get some of these incredible pictures of animals when they are sleeping, they can be some of the best portraits that you can have. But, they're also pretty difficult. You have to have a lot of patience, and if you have a wound up animal like I do, it could take awhile before they settle down enough, so they will actually take a nap. There are some great ways to get these pictures though. If you are at the clients home, the animal may naturally just go ahead and lay down in their dog bed or maybe their special spot in the yard, or maybe you could run them around for a few minutes, so that they'll be relaxed and tired. You could get some cute pictures of them yawning, or maybe if it's a cat, maybe they are bathing themselves or stretching. And especially there might be a spot with the cat where they're curled up in the sunlight, so just be patient and keep your eyes open for those amazing pictures that you really just have to be in the right place at the right time for."
