" A very good friend of mine says "if you want to be an expert birder in your area, get a list of the common birds in your area, from someone such as your local Audubon Society or your local Agricultural agent." They should all have lists of local birds. Sit down, put this book in the bathroom and every time you go in there, look at that list of common birds and study one of them. If you do that, in six months time, you will be an expert on your local common birds."
