" Hi! My name is Dan, and I am here today with Expert Village to show you how to tie a French prusik. It is very similar to the standard prusik, only it is tied in a single strand instead of a loop. You want to take a thin piece of line and wrap it around a thicker piece. If the prusik is a knot, it allows you to slide one way typically up a rope but not down. The more turns you put around your large line, the more stable your prusik will be. It will also be a little bit harder to slide up. You can make your ends off with various other knots or bends in this situation. Right now the prusik will slide up the line but not down it. So that is how you tie a French prusik. "
