" Hi! My name is Dan, and I am here with Expert Village today to show you how to tie a one handed bowline. If you have already mastered the two handed bowline, this would be an excellent challenge for you. It is best to tie it around yourself. So, at this point I am going to use two hands. I am going to pass the line around my back, and I am going to let go with my left hand. I have a little bit of tail in my right hand. I am going to make a loop, feed my tail end around my running end… and there is a one handed bowline. I can tie it one more time for you. So feed your line around behind you; with your tail end, make a loop in towards your body; with the palm of your hand, lift the non-working end and pinch your tail and step back, and that will tighten your bowline. It is hard to get it very tight against each other. However, it is a good way to quickly make a loop around yourself. So that is the one handed bowline. "
