" Hi! My name is Dan, and I am here with Expert Village, and today I am going to show you how to make a decorative necklace called the monkey’s fist necklace. It involves two knots: the monkey’s fist and the double fisherman’s knot, again by tying your monkey’s fist. In this case I am going to tie a double monkey’s fist, or a monkey’s fist with only two strands. So make two wraps around your fingers, and then feed your tail end in between your fingers twice as well. When tying a monkey’s fist, it is important to make sure that you have the same number of turns on every side of your knot. Now that I have two turns, I am going to carefully slide the beginnings of my monkey’s fist off my fingers, drop the tail end down and through, up and through. The monkey’s fist is neat because it is a totally spherical and symmetrical knot. Tightening it is usually the hardest part; tightening is what I am about to do now. "

on 8/2/2008 Very poor instructional video. You can't see anything he's doing. Either the camera needs to zoom in on his hands, or he needs to demonstrate this technique with a larger rope. The folks at Expert Village need to watch a video on how to properly make an instructional video.
