"Hi my names Austin Harmon but out here I'm known as Forest Evergreen. And I'm here on ExpertVillage.com to teach you about the game of Amtgard. So we compete on both sides. You can win awards for that since we are a large social organization as well. We have awards and prizes for winning tournaments. If you win enough awards in certain categories you're eligible to get a knighthood which is the highest award or honor we can give out in the game. There are four types of knighthoods. There is knight of the sword which is for fighting ability. There's knight of the serpent which is for cultural competitions. There's knight of the crowns for serving in high office being the president, vice president, treasurer, record keeper of our group and then there is knight of the flame which is for just overall service to the club. Going out and doing things for the club whether it's cleaning up trash at a camping event, running a feast, a cookout at a camping event, hosting a tournament, hosting a quest at an event, running the gate at an event. We have a gate where people come in, they pay to get to our local monthly events which are once every three months generally. We host a large camp out event for the whole weekend and we charge for those because we have to pay for the food, we have to pay for the a site that we use, for the facilities, you know, Port-a-Potties we need to rent those things like that."
