Combat Tips for Amtgard Live Action RPG

"Hi my names Austin Harmon but out here I'm known as Forest Evergreen and I'm here on ExpertVillage.com to teach you about the game of Amtgard. He's fighting with a shield and a short sword which is the most common fighting style in the game. So really what I've got to worry about is the fact that he's got a lot of defense here. And if he can deflect me off to the side he's going to be able to rush in on me so I'm usually going to try to go for a leg to slow him down or fake and try to get him to block to one direction and then hit something else. Ok now I'm in trouble because I'm armed and I got this giant weapon. So what normally would happen with one like this is something like this "Fred throw me a sword" So that one he was able to get up into my elbow before I was able to follow through on my shot. Because I was rotating my wrist as I threw my shot, my shot wouldn't have counted even though it was within a time frame we normally except, you can't continue a change in motion and have the shot land."
