Leg Shots in Amtgard Live Action RPG

"Hi my names Austin Harmon but out here I'm known as Forest Evergreen. And I'm here on ExpertVillage.com to teach you about the game of Amtgard. A if you were to take a leg shot if we were fighting and he would sweep my leg I would have to drop down again and put that knee down. I'm going to take my good leg and put it behind me because when you get down here all he would have to do is swing down and I'm out of combat. If I have it back here and he swings and hits this let it doesn't affect me and I've got a chance to still follow through on it. We'll do one more round of combat to show it to you. See that time he swung a little lower, he caught me on the upper part of the leg, I was able to take his sword arm and while I was switching hands and swing again. He did come back and hit my leg and then we discussed whether the shot was entitled, I think it was pretty close, see he'd say no it wasn't close enough so if I'd won that round I'd be wounded, he'd still you know, I'd be wounded he'd be out of that round. When you fight with different styles, shields, you're able to fight a little more defensively so you don't have to worry about, you know, just kind of like at the start how we're kind of gauging distance on each other because single sword any one shot is going to make a huge difference. Where as a sword and shield I could block one of the shots and step in. I don't have to worry so much about where a target locations going to be. Obviously you still have to worry about it but you have more defenses that way."
