Now basically the movement of the pawns up here are only allow you to move one step at a time. One step at a time. So when you move one the other person moves one. However, which one you want to move. But, you can not go left or right unless you pass a river and basically this is the divider. In Chinese chess it is called a river. The minute you pass the river then you could go any sides left or right. But, you can not go backwards. Once you go forward you are done. So you can not spring back one step. Once you go down you go either left or right and just keep going. Once you go down you can basically take the you enemy out and one time. "
