"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Bob Lanning and I’m here to tell you about how we’re making model villages. Up here in the hills you see the town of Jerome which he’s done in “N” scale to give you a little bit of forced perspective, even the vehicles are “N” scale. We just did enough to show what it looked like, that was where the actual mine was and that was where the ore was transported down to Clarkville. It was an open pit mine; Jerome goes back to about 1870’s when the first ore strike was found. This was the city of Cottonwood, which we’ve talked about today, this is representing Cottonwood about the 1950’s, we even have the proper movie marquee for the 50’s. We to about half-done with it, the city of Cottonwood. It was not really involved in the mining but it was kind of the agriculture area of the Verde Valley and where everybody did their shopping, it was started about the late 1800’s. "
