Summary: Learn how to attach the roof to a bird feeder plan from an expert birdhouse builder in this free yard crafts video.
"We are going to put the roof on and we are going to hinge it so we can put the feed inside of it so we will make the roof come out. If you have a piece of wood that is a little bit wider than this it's kind of nice to use. It just happens that I have a bunch of scrap wood because I make so many bird houses and what have you. I don't make too many bird houses and what have you out of new wood but I use old wood for the bird houses. Bird feeders, I like them because, you use new wood, people can paint them, put a little design on them, flowers on them, anything that they want to do which makes it kind of nice. I happen to, this board here, like you see, it's an old piece of wood, but it's a little bit wider so we can use it on there and we will cut if off about right here. Cut it off. Problem is, when you do this, you've got to have an angel on it again. We will cut that same angel on it that we did on the other one. A 25 degree angel. Now you can see why we do that. See how it flushes in with this? When we hinge it it will lift up like this. We will show you how to put the hinges on and kind of finish up part of it. On the next segment, we will go ahead and put the hinges on this. We will drill a hole in the back here so that you can hang it or you can put a hanger on it or whatever you want to do. We will go ahead and find some hinges and go ahead and put the hinges on it."
