Artists who twist and shape balloons into shapes such as animals and other various toys are known as balloon modelers or balloon twisters, and are usually contorting long, cylindrical balloons into said shapes for entertainment purposes such as children's birthday parties or celebrations. Street artisans and clowns are popular balloon modelers, and though the practice might seem benign to those who don't have the skill, but the art of balloon shaping requires a fair amount of skill. While some modelers use a single balloon to create their animals or shapes, many use multiple balloons. Those who have been practicing the art for any serious amount of time or have gained the appropriate skill level usually don't restrict themselves to one type of twisting. For most of us, balloon art is best appreciated at a circus or fair, as a child's face lights up with happiness upon realizing a simple balloon has become an animal or toy just for them.
In this free video clip series, our expert will demonstrate a variety of shapes, animals and toys made with balloons. Follow along at home as he explains the basic techniques for creating balloon art and helps you learn, step by step, how to re-create his exciting creatures at home for your own kids, or for entertainment purposes. " Hi! I am Brandon Nowasky and on behalf of expertvillage.com,. I am going to show you some stuff about balloon animals. First we are going to talk about what kind of balloons you want to get to make balloon animals. You don’t want to get some high quality latex balloons. Now you can go to a store find a little package deals that have balloons and pumps and little instruction booklets. These balloons are going to be really cheap; they tend to break more and a bit hard to work with. The brand I prefer to use are the Qualatex balloons, it is probably the highest brand balloon on the market right now. It comes in different sizes and you can get different qualities 100 a gross; however you need. These balloons pop less, easier to work with, easier to blow up. Something else that is good about the Qualatex balloon is that they are helium quality so that you can actually fill with helium let the animals float which you can’t do with all balloons. You are going to want to make sure that you get the higher quality balloons because those low quality balloons will pop and that is not what you want to have when you are making balloon animals for kids and in our next clip we will talk about the proper way to inflate the balloons."
