"Welcome back this is Brian on behalf of expertvillage.com. We’ve almost reached the end of our developing as you can see we’ve got about 10 seconds left on the timer and as that counts down I’m going to begin pouring out the solution and do what’s called the stop. To avoid over developing your negatives you want to stop the development process right at the recommended time so what I’m doing here is pouring back the water from our prerinse and again what I’ll do is agitate that for about 10 seconds and pour that water out and it’s not contaminated with developer chemical and you don’t want to use it again. To completely stop the developing process is a good idea to go ahead and run some clean distilled water through it an additional two more times, again with my mild agitation to help the developing process. Okay after three times the film has been stopped, we’re ready to move on to using the fixture."
