"Hello this is Cable for Expert Village. In this clip I'll explain the basic difference between the different types of cameras that you'll use to capture animated art work. There are basically two kinds. A live feed and a camera that doesn't use a live feed. A mini DV cam with a fire wire connection is basically a live feed device. In this case it sends a signal directly from the camera in to the computer. And it's constantly updated. There's a connection the whole time you're capturing. But with a digital still camera, the resolution can be much higher and these can be found in your camera settings. This does not usually allow you a live feed. In this case you would take the pictures and the pictures would be stored on the camera's memory card and then later you would transfer the Images from the camera's card on to the computer and manage them as you would almost any other file. And then order them in a frame grabber. So the digital still camera is a little more work but sometimes it gives you better Image quality. It just depends on what you're looking for."
