All right, the first step usually in shaping a board, I usually take as making sure you got all your tools. So tape measure is key. Square like this is pretty key for outlining the board. You're going to need a planer, a sheer form, hand planer, sometimes a finger planer, spokeshave. Get yourself a good sanding block is key. Something like this or just get a block of wood a lot of shapers use. A sanding screen helps to finish out a board. We'll get to that stuff later, but any of these tools are a necessity to get yourself a complete shape."
