"ABE TOKE: Hi. Welcome to Expert Village, my name is Abe Toke. I'm going to take you through step by step to shape yourself a complete surfboard. So to get started on a board, you need a blank. Blanks vary. This is an old cork foam that I kept around for years, but I'm not going to lay into this one right now. But US Foam is probably your best bet. They're located in Ventura. They have a full line of every style of blank that you can possibly use. From the long-board blanks to a fun shape to regular short boards, they'll have it all. You can get different densities. I tend to use just the normal stock density. You can get the lighter stuff if you think you need it. That would be like a--this is a super light. They have super blues, greens. They all vary, but generally, they all work. There are other blank companies but the US seems to be the most availability and pretty much the best stuff out there. You can get the other stuff. It's just harder to find. There's Bennett. There's Elova. There's Safari. So I mean, now since Clark Foam went out of business, there's actually more foam than ever. You shouldn't have a problem getting foam. Like I said, US, you can go right online. They have a catalog. Most of the companies have catalogs you can order. I don't know if they'll ship. I think they ship UPS or you can just go down and handpick 'em right off the rack down at their shop in Ventura."
