" Hi! My name is Andy Strohl and on behalf of Expert Village, in this clip we will be discussing how to arrange our tiles and actually get them on the board to form words on the board game, Scrabble. Don’t forget to check out my work at www.strohldigital.com. So I am playing with one other person, I have chosen my tiles and have put my tiles on the tile rack. As you can see, there is an assortment of different values associated with my tiles and what I like to do is figure out what word I am going to use. I will kind of play around with the letters by switching them around, trying to put them in different areas. Try to get the best word with the highest possible value. In this particular set up, it looks like if I put the g, i, and e together, I can make the word give which is a strong word, not a bad first word. 2, 3, 7 and 8 would be the value for this word. Not a bad word. Also a reminder we are not allowed to use slang in any of the word formulations or any proper nouns, places, people, so that is important to remember as well. So I am going to go ahead and put this word on the board “give” on the first location. It will then be my opponents turn to select a word and put his or her word down on the board. Because I already gave 4 tiles to the board, I am going to choose 4 more tiles so that I consistently have 7 tiles at all times. "
