"In this segment I'm going to talk to you about snoots. Snoots kind of just go over your light and they actually focus a light a little bit. But they don't focus light nearly as well as a grid does. These, these are nice for putting kind of a big spot on the back of a background, or kind of lighting the corner of a room. A lot of people make the mistake thinking that this is going to create a nice spot but it doesn't. It's actually pretty wide, it has pretty wide coverage. But the nice thing about it, is doesn't spill everywhere. If you want just, you know, just want the corner of a room lit up, these are really good for that. But when you want to get a spot you really want to stick to a grid. In this segment, I'm also, we're going to talk about bare bulb. Bare bulb is when you just have absolutely no modifier on your flash, just use it straight, both these, you can kind of see. A lot of times, I'll do this outside, when it's really windy, because it creates a nice, even, relatively soft light and it doesn't have the harshness you would have a reflector, plus it is a lot harder to blow over then when you have a light attached to a umbrella, or a softbox on there and sometimes, you know even, you can put a ton of sandbags on your, on your lights and it's just not going to work. And it has, it actually has it's own particular look. It's a little bit more specular, it's just a little bit harder than a softbox, and it also can be nice in groups outside."
