"One of the questions that I get asked most is can I begin to develop black and white film in my house, in my apartment and the second question I get asked the most is, is this going to cost me a lot of money. And the answers to the first question are absolutely, you can do this in an apartment, a house, I've seen it done in all types of places. You can do it in a bathroom sink, you just can't have any light coming in and it must be properly ventilated. The second answer to the question is that you probably can start all this stuff up, about spending fifty maybe, sixty dollars. If you go to garage sales or on the Internet, you can get it for less than that. So yes, you can do this. But there's a third factor I want you to consider. One is safety, you want to keep this chemistry away from small children, away from animals and away from people that might not know what it is. So always have your space and try to let the people that you live with know what's going on when you do this. That's a really important, important factor in starting to do all this stuff and keep that in mind."
