" Hi! I’m Yvette Parrish. Thanks for joining me at Expert Village. Today, I’m going to show you how to apply makeup properly, professionally, and the use of brushes. When you’re going to get your picture taken and you want to do your makeup extra special, remember when the camera hits your face with that flash, it is going to remove photographically 50% of your makeup. So, you are going to have to apply it 50% more than you normally would, so which means if you use a chocolate eye liner, go ahead and wear black for your pictures, because once the flash hits it, it is going to look brown. If you start off with your normal makeup and you get your picture taken, it is going to look bare in the pictures. So, you have to remember at least 50% more. I put a 100% more, so that way in the picture they are extra looking good…but if you are not that brave do at least 50% more, because once that flash hits you it just removes just photographically half of your makeup. So if you are applying makeup for a model and she is getting her picture taken—make sure you find out is it black and white picture, is it a color film, is it a 35 mm or is it a digital film, is it indoors or is it outdoors; and all those kind of questions that you communicate with the photographer and the model enable you to do the makeup correctly, and she will look her best on film. And then you get hired for more jobs…so it just makes you more efficient. "
