How to Apply Upper Eyeliner Makeup

" Hi! I’m Yvette Parrish. Thanks for joining me at Expert Village. Today, I’m going to show you how to apply makeup properly, professionally, and the use of brushes. What we are going to do now is do some eyeliner, and I have a unique way to apply eyeliner. I take my pointy brush and I got it wet, I dipped it in a little water, I squeeze out the excess water. I am going to use a black eye shadow and I am going to apply liner on her eye. It will have the same effect as a liquid liner, but you will have more control because you are using a brush, so if you notice I am slightly lifting up her eye because I want to get it as close to her eyelashes as possible. I am going to grab a little bit more, and I am just using a black. This is kind of a sparkly black, but you can use a flat black eye shadow and just wet your brush, and you can make your own liquid eyeliner. There are many different eyeliners. You can use the powder form like I am using, and most professional makeup artists like to use this form, but you can also do a pencil. A pencil is fine, you can sharpen the pencil and apply that as well. There is also liquid eyeliner that usually comes in a little tube like this, and they will have a little wand on it and you can apply like that. Anytime you use a liquid liner it is going to be more dramatic. So I want the smoothness of a liquid for her, for my model, I just do not want the drama of it; so that’s why I chose a powder: because I like the smoothness. I just did not want a big black shiny line, but if you are going out in the evening and you have a dramatic date and the night out, the liquid liner is beautiful for that. Now whatever is left on the brush I am just kind of put it in the rest of her eyebrows. So everything has a pretty look. "
