The history of cosmetics is as old as civilization itself. Archaeological evidence shows that cosmetics were used as far back as 6000 years ago by the ancient Egyptians. The Romans used mercury and flowers to create rouge, and Ancient Greeks utilized similar tools in the theater. In Western culture, cosmetics and make-up are more popular than ever, with thousands of products available to choose from. Traditionally, foundation comes in liquid, cream or powder form, and is used to add color to the face and hide freckles, blemishes and other imperfections of the skin, giving a healthier, more youthful appearance.

" I want to thank you for visiting expertvillage.com. Today we’re going to learn about some make-up techniques, and this is my beautiful model Ana-Lucy Corona. What we’re going to start with today, before you start a make over you always start with a clean face, and I always have a little look at the eyebrows, because when we start with the foundation, we really want to make sure that the eyebrows are where we want it to be. So what I’m going to do is trim them a little bit, and I’m going to tweeze them before we start the make-up application. What I’m going to do here is I’m going to brush them up, and if you see if you get a tight shot you can kind of see the length right here. That’s a little bit too long, so what we do here is we take some scissors, and I’m going to trim only the length that’s just too long, because that way you don’t over tweeze. And your eyebrows always really look really pretty if you do it this way, and at the very end you brush them down and you trim them down here… and you see how pretty the eyebrow looks. This just helps the whole makeup; everything looks stronger if you have a strong brow… this down here. And I’m going to trim them there and you see so it’s very pretty, natural eyebrow. I’m going to brush away any excess that we trimmed."
