" Hi! I’m Yvette Parish, and thank you for visiting expertvillage.com. Today, we’re going to be talking about high heels. These are clear lucite pageant shoes, or special event shoes. These particular ones are 5 inches. I would recommend them for any young pageant lady who is going to be participating in a pageant to wear a nice high heel. The more petite you are, the higher the heel you should probably wear, because this is going to elongate you on stage. I’m 5’2” so these 5 inch heels really helped me a lot on stage when I went to Mrs. Texas… that was in Austin, Texas, I was Mrs. Texas 2003… and then I went to Ms. Ethnic World, I went to Washington D.C. and got to represent Mexico at the international pageant. So these are my lucky shoes. There are also a few tips in buying shoes that are so high like this in heel. First, you must try them on. If you have a mule, which this is a slip on mule-type shoe, you have to almost grasp your toes tight in the front because they’re just so high. It’s like walking on your tip toes. You’re walking on your tip toes, so most of these clear lucite shoes have a velvet bottom where your foot is, that way you don’t slip. The bottom of the shoe, you can get nonslip pads that are very inexpensive. They’re kind of like a sticker. You unstick them and put them on the bottom of your shoe, and it’ll help you and you won’t slip from your bottom of your foot. So you won’t slip that way. Where my foot is, on top, it’s got a velvet cushion, and that kind of helps my feet not move around. Of course, I’m kind of clutching my toes. What we do for beauty is amazing right? I’m kind of clutching my toes, because like I said you’re walking on your tip toes. So, if you’re walking on your tip toes, you don’t want to walk like this. That doesn’t even look good does it? I don’t even want to see the taping of me doing that. That doesn’t look good. You can’t walk kind of normally, because….not looking very graceful is it? So when you have heels this high, you really do have to set the mood. The pose, one foot in front of the other. When you pose, you have your beautiful shoe, it elongates your leg, and it has a wonderful look. Do your little turn, one foot in front of the other and do your little pageant stand. So in any pageant, any event, if your modeling, or doing anything like that on stage, the higher the heel will elongate you and give you a thinner look. "
