"Hello. I'm Tom Wright, from Gingerbread Glass on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment we're going to talk about caning. Now caning is used to decorate glass art. Now to do cane it's very simple. First you start your torch, propane first, then oxygen and when you shut it off, it's oxygen then propane. All right, we have our flame up. Now to make can you take the glass that is clear while putting stripes of the color. Now I'm going to take this and warm them up. Now to make cane, all you need to do is make stripes down the side of the clear with the color. Now, it doesn't take much - just a little bit. Now you can do it with many different sequences in to which to make your cane look different, but I like to go with the symmetrical ones to get a nice, even cane which looks very cool. So I'm just going to do two sides of this, and now we're going to take another clear rod and connect it. Now, really quick, now we're going to work it in the flame, I'm actually going to turn the flame up a little bit. Once it's hot enough it will start to spin and then we just take them apart and pull it, and when you pull and turn, you've got a design, which is "cane". And this can be used as any sort of decorative for any side of glass and it works really well and looks wonderful."
