"Hi! Tunisia Woods back again for Hello Beautiful Mobile Massage Therapy Group. Now, I want to talk to you about Swedish massage on the glutes, or some people call them the butt muscles. What happens is a lot of people stand on their feet on their jobs everyday. They may have low back problems, but what people don’t realize is low back and glutes all are the same. They may say, “Oh my goodness, I need my low back worked out.” But then the glutes aren’t worked, and then instantly our backs are still hurting. I understand some people may feel very uncomfortable with these areas, so you can do it over the top of the sheet. This is where compressions come in. Now, it doesn’t matter where you start, but I like to start from the top of the glutes, right where the muscle between the low back and the glutes meet, and you can feel it. You can use your palms of your hands or you can use your fists, and I’ll show you both. The first is palms of hands. You just want to push down. You can hold. Remember compressions are just pushing down, and that’s all you want to do. This really untightens a lot of muscles that a lot of people have problems with. Also, a lot of bicyclists or a lot of athletes—they have very serious problems with their glutes tightening. And you can use your fists. Actually, with you fists you can kind of knead. Remember, circular motions. Get your shoulders into it, and I bet you you do this on your clients and they’ll love you. They’ll feel instant release and they’ll be so happy that you tried it.
