Apply Primer for TV & Movie Makeup

"Hi, my name is Sonja Gjokaj, I am the owner of Gjokaj makeup and on behalf of Expert Village to talk to you about make up for production. In this first step, I'm going to talk to you a little bit about primer and why it is important if you?re doing a face for production. I'm going to put this on Shana just to keep her hair neatly out of place, there you go, it looks lovely, it surely matches your shirt. Primers are basically a thin layer that you use before your foundation, primer often contains a little bit of silicone, they smooth out any unevenness in the skin, and act as a perfect canvas base, you might want to say, pre foundation. I'm just going to put a pea size amount on the back of my hand and with a little latex sponge, I'm just going to dab it, where I think its needed, and nextly on the forehead, the bridge of the nose, nostril area and then the chin. There are a lot of primers on the market, look for a primer that, like I said, contains a little bit of silicone, it just gives the skin smoothness, that works really, really well. I also like primers that matifies, certain areas especially the t zone and that is actually very important in production make up. You really want to stay away from products that make skin look to shiny, because that often will be just rather sweaty or, the talent doesn't look as cool calm and collected as they should be."
