Applying Hair Dye to Gray Hair

"It's very important that you take your sections small enough and pay close attention. You can see in this section here, where the new growth is and where the grey is. And, just apply just that very small amount of color. You want to just cover the grey only. I don't want color on all of this previously colored hair. You don't want to overlap your color. You just want to get it on that grey. Otherwise, you end up with an overlap and what we call a line of demarcation. And, you can actually see. Tilt your head this way a little bit. There you go. Now, you can see where her grey is and where I'm applying the color. Just draw that line, take your parting. Take that small section see, when you pull it over it bleeds right through. That's exactly what you want it to do. Apply your color, pull the hair color and watch it bleed through. Pull my next section and see how it oozes right through the next section. See how nice and neat you can work by sectioning the hair. Getting the hair out of your way. Pull that through and watch it ooze right through. Just the grey only. I'm working up to the front. And, all I have left is one section. Here's really, here's a good part to pay attention to right here on the side of the head. Remember, I've put the conditioner on so it doesn't stain her skin. But, I want to get those little grey hairs that grow close to your face. So, just on the grey hair only. And, then now you can actually see the color is starting to process. And, you can go through and see that it is totally covered. That's how you pay close attention and put color on just the grey hair."
