"So at this point you want to make sure you have all the proper tools that you have to get started. While your hair is processing the conditioner, you've got ten minutes to make sure that you?re ready to start coloring hair. Your wide tooth comb, very important in all the steps, your gloves, you want to make sure you where your gloves at this point, from this point forward. Dark hair color always stains your skin, always, always. You want to make sure that you get some kind of petroleum jelly, Vaseline, cholesterol, some kind of thick conditioner. In this case I'm going to use the same conditioner that we put in her hair, and we're going to put it on her skin to make sure that the hair color does not stain her skin because that's a big problem and takes three or four days for that color to come off. You're going to have your timer, make sure that you process the time properly. You want to make sure that you have your hair clips so that when we section the hair off we're going to need to clip the unneeded hair out of the way. Your color, color bottle, developer, and all the other tools that come with your color kit are the things that you'll need. Most important, make sure your hands are covered with gloves and then we're going to cover the skin with a conditioner."
