"Prior to hair color you want to use your clarifying shampoo that we talked about earlier. I'm going to use lukewarm water. We're going to get her hair nice and wet. We're going to use the clarifying shampoo that we talked about to make sure we remove any build up in the hair. You don't want to scrub the scalp too hard prior to color because it opens the pores and the developer actually will sting or itch your scalp. So we want to pay more attention to the hair. And you can actually tell that her hair has been clarified because when you pull through the hair you can hear it squeaking. It's not something you can hear on the camera? But you can, can you hear that? You can hear it squeaking. And that means it's as clean as it possibly can be. And then now that the hair's been clarified we're going to get ready for conditioner."
