" Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk, and on behalf of expertvillage.com today we are discussing some tips and techniques for using a personal shopper. Now, in earlier segment we were discussing department store personal shoppers. As I mentioned, department store personal shoppers is a service that they provide as part of the department store, and it costs you nothing. Let’s now discuss personal shopping businesses. It is very different, these people do it for a living, and they expect to get paid for it. Its not always for everyone of course; hiring a personal shopper within a business is, some people like to say, not for the K-Mart shopper, but the K-Mart shopper is not looking for a personal shopper, so to keep it in mind. They always usually have different programs set up, so that, one, are you going out looking for specific items for them, or again as I mentioned in the earlier segment as well, are you going out alone or together. If you are going together, they are usually packages that personal shoppers will provide. That can include the location; location will always make a difference, depending how far away it is from point A to point B: if you have to go to another city to do that shopping, if you are looking for something special out of town. Also, if the personal shopper is going to provide a light lunch, where that will be, transportation…so these are all different things that, when hiring a personal shopper you are going to want to keep in mind, because it will make a difference in cost.
