Series Summary

Jeans are trousers traditionally made from denim, but may also be made from a variety of fabrics. Originally intended for work, they became popular among teenagers in the 1950s as a kind of protest against conformity. Today, jeans are a very popular form of casual dress around the world and are available in many styles and colors, with "blue jeans" being specifically identified with American culture. Fits of jeans are determined by current styles, sex, and by the manufacturer.

Because jeans are ordinarily made of denim, the way in which they are washed can be different from other common articles of clothing. In order to clean jeans and make them last as long as possible, they must be washed and dried at certain relative temperatures. In this free video series, our expert will show you every step in washing jeans, from removing stains to drying and folding. You'll learn specifics about washing blue jeans, new jeans, and work jeans. No matter what type of jeans you have, if you have access to a washer or dryer, this video will show you how to keep them clean!
