Video Transcript

"Hi, I'm Marty on behalf of expertvillage.com. I'm here to help you learn how to iron a tie. Probably one of the most frequently iron object for men or perhaps a dress shirt. Most ties are made out of silk cotton or poly blend. You always want to check your label to make sure that it is. In this case we are looking at a 100% silk when ironing silk you want to use a medium temperature not to hot. To begin the ironing process on this tie we are going to turn it right side down looking at the seam. This will make sure that we get our creases in the proper place. Silk has a tendency to shine when you iron it one of the things you can do to help reduce that is put a cloth on top of it. I like using cotton flower sacks they are versatile you can use them for lots of different things."
