"Hello, my name is Mary Thinnes, and I am a skin care expert. The next step in home care, which can be done on a weekly basis as well, are masks. Those should be done once a week. So generally speaking, depending on what skin type you have, clay masks are a mask that will dry out impurities in the skin. So those are great for people that have a lot of comedones, which are the blackheads, or acne skin. Clay masks can be kept on for up to ten to fifteen minutes, and actually are best when they are removed with a warm towel. That being said, when you obviously use your clay masks, you want to remove it with a towel because that's the easiest, because they are kind of hard to get off. For other skin types, there are different masks conducive for what actually is going on. There are anti-aging masks for mature skin. This mask right here I have is actually a post laser mask. So this one actually can be used for someone not only that had laser done, but also for someone that has a lot of issues with hydration in the skin. And basically it's just a regular mask, it looks kind of like a cream, which it is, but left on for ten to fifteen minutes, this mask will dry. It won't get hard like your clay masks will, but it will still dry out and then it's easily removed with a wet cloth. Keep in mind too, you don't want the water to be too hot, and you don't want it to be too cold at the same time. The reason why I say that, is because too hot extreme temperatures can actually break down your skin and actually not be healthy for it. You want something that's in between. Basically pick masks that are conducive for your skin types. Basically that is done on a weekly basis."
