"Hi, my name is Mary Thinnes, and I'm a skin care expert. The next alpha hydroxy acid I'm going to discuss is malic. Malic is actually a derivative of apples and pears, so this again is another acid that is not too commonly heard of, and you're going to find it more in conjunction with other acids, mixed with buffers and other ingredients, as far as your home care regimen goes, but with malic, again you're going to apply it to the skin the same way as glycolic and titalic, and malic you're going to actually put on the skin after you've cleansed and toned, so you're going to apply it to the skin, and generally speaking, you're going to put it all over the entire face, and once you've done it after your third step, after your cleanse and tone the skin, you're going to put it on, and you're going to leave it on for like a minute, and let it penetrate into the skin, before you put on any of your moisturizers or any other products, and again, you don't have to rinse it off. It's just a product that you want to keep on the skin and use it at night, so that being said, that is the third alpha hydroxy acid, and that is malic."
