"Hi, welcome to Expert Village. In this series we're going to be talking about how to turn regular, boring bell bottom jeans into funky bell bottoms. In this step we're going to talk about looking at our jean and seeing if we like the way the bell hangs. So what you're going to do is you're going to go ahead and try to hold up your jean and see how the bell hangs, kind of get an idea of the width. And this looks like it's going to be a pretty good width. It's nice and wide. You can kind of open it up like this and look at the circumference, if it's too big for you again, you can always remove the triangles and make it a little shorter. All you have to do is cut off a little slit like this if the circumference is too wide. But usually if you're making bell bottoms you want to go with as wide as possible, it's more dramatic."
