"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Lizbeth Muller from Liz's Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida, and today we're going to show you how to cut curly hair. Now, I make sure that I cut everything back here straight across, as you see. Look at that. It's very nice and neat. You can see that. I'll show you on my hands if I can just so you can get an idea because the cape is dark. Make sure, like I said, that the first layer and everything is just right. It tends to pop up. What happens with curly hair is sometimes the top layer looks a little shorter. If you press too hard as you're cutting, the top layer just pops up. If you'd like, what you do when you are cutting the back a little bit, just release your hand a little bit and angle it. If you're down here, as you're cutting it, just leave a little bit. Just a tad longer on the top layer. I find that's easier and nice when you have curly hair. I have curly. Believe me, when you do it that way, in my experience, the hair looks a little bit more even and it turns out more even. We're going to go ahead to the side of the head now."
