" This is Lois Arnold and I am the owner of Elijah University City Salon and Spa, and we are at 4012 Market Street here in Philadelphia. As we are going to go and actually shape the nail. This is a very coarse emery board; it’s not good for regular nails, your natural nails, but it’s excellent for what we’re doing because it’s very hard and very abrasive to get all the extra residue and to shape that nail. Sometimes when you’re making a nail you can just paint that nail and it’ll come out just perfectly what you want, and sometimes you just have to go in and use your emery board and your tools to smooth it out more natural looking for the nail. Take all the imperfections out. Make sure they match. That’s a good match, a good length there. When you’re using your acrylics it’s very important to get the one that matches for what you’re doing. You can use a white powder to do the tip and the pink at the base, which when it’s done you automatically have what you would call an American manicure. "
