Caring for fingernails is an important part of health and hygiene and should be practiced by everyone whether they care for their nails themselves or hire an esthetician or beautician to do basic care and beautification of the nails.It is a very soothing procedure that both men and women enjoy because there are several treatment options available for multiple personalities. Sometimes the manicurist will attach acrylic nails to the existing nail so that it can grow without worry of being broken and also to lengthen the look of the existing nail until it is able to grow out. This became highly popular in the 20th century and today is a multi-million dollar industry.

" This is Lois Arnold, and I am the owner of Elijah University City Salon and Spa, and we are at 4012 Market Street here in Philadelphia. This is my model Janelle and as you can see, I already did one hand for her. What we’re doing on the second hand is we’ve left two nails available so you can see what we’re going to do from the beginning. The first thing that you would do whenever you’re getting ready to work with a client is to sterilize your station we have done that. Now, what we’re going to do is we’re going to prep the nails. When you’re applying anytime an acrylic or any fake nail, the nail cannot be smooth. The first thing that we’re going to do is we’re going to use our drill. "
