Hi today we are going to talk about the fashion of the 70's and how to dance retro. The 70's were a lot of fun. They included disco, they included bell bottoms, they included all sorts of really fun stuff but it is important to understand that the 70's were sort of built on the fashions of the 60's and a sort of remnant of that so hippie fashion was really still strong in the beginning of the 70's though it took on a slightly more upscale look. Disco which just emerged as a completely different type of music prior to that which was mostly classic rock and folk music, disco spawned its own look which was totally different than anything before which was spandex, lycra and shiny fabrics. There is really quite a split in the middle of that when you look at the decade so we are going to look at both disco fashion and we are going to look at early 70's early fashion and sort of how that infiltrated mainstream America. We will talk about jewelry, we will talk about shoes, we will talk about accessories and the 70's was a really really really fun decade to look at in terms of fashion, more so than maybe even the 50's and 60's which have elements, the 70s really do influence today because in the 90's a lot of stuff that was popular in the 70's came back in style.
