"So I mentioned earlier that there are some really classic looks from the '50s that still stand out today, and one of the major ones that was a major revolution in style in the '50s is the Chanel suit. Now, the one I have here to show you is not a real Chanel, because unfortunately those are a little bit out of my price range. But, the important thing to know is that there is no collar. It is a collarless jacket, it is in a tweed. You can see it right here, a nice tweed fabric. And the cut is boxy. Boxy and looser. And so, this was starting to change the fashion, because it wasn't focused as much on the waist. And this would have a matching skirt with it. It was incredibly popular. We talked about Chanel being a brand before for perfume, but this suit in particular, it was popular all over Europe, it was popular in the States, and the thing that's interesting is that today, these suits are still worn by more of the upper eschlons for society, and they're very coveted. It's been reinvented, it's been copied, and it was a really classic. It continued into the '60s in its popularity with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who is a great style icon. And it only came in certain colors, which would be pink, peach, a light green, and a light blue. So this pink, the pink that it came in, the peach would be sort of closer to this color right here. However, those colors sort of speak to what we were talking about before with the ladylike tones of fashion in the 1950s. And the Chanel suit was really the epitome of class as far as that went."
