"So if you're thinking about makeup and you're preppy, in general the idea is to look like you're naturally very attractive and very healthy. The entire look is clean, it's simple, there are no bright colors, there's no heavy eyeliner. I have done a series on Goth and it's really the opposite of that, Goth is about contrast whereas the preppy look is really all about being natural and blending together, so the base of that is always going to be good pressed powder, or a good foundation, and I have two of those here. Either way, you want your complexion basically to be matte, it can be a little bit dewy, a little bit shiny, but in general you want to look like you have very healthy skin and the skin should be just blended into the background. People shouldn't even be able to tell that you're wearing makeup. If you do want to wear makeup though, the most you should ever do is a good mascara, and some lip-gloss. And the idea is to just enhance your natural beauty. The lip-gloss I picture is a light color, it's not bright, there's no glitter in it, there's no purple in it, it's a natural shade, and I actually have it on my lips right now, and it just blends in with them and accents the color very naturally. And the same thing with the mascara, it shouldn't be a heavy, thick, five coats of mascara, just a little bit of an accent. The idea is to be very naturally beautiful."
