"Hi my name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village I am here to discuss short curly locks with you. As you can see I have completed her updo and we have kind of filled in the gaps which makes it seem that she has a lot more hair than she actually has. In considering we started off with a little bit that back combing everything out really helped solidify the look. Now she has these pieces. What I am going to do in order to help these pieces go is we are going to use our curling iron. I am not going to spray these pieces unlike the ones that I did up here in order to set the curl. We do not want the curl to set necessarily in a pin curl. If you roll these up with hair spray, you see how it has that little bit of lift and that little bit of that notch. If you roll it with hair spray you are setting it. What you are going to do is roll it, then take your hair spray, tug a little bit and really kind of form that curl where it is a bit of a softer look. Do the same thing around the face. You also want to hold the root of the hair flush to the scalp. You do not want to lift. So you see I am curling her ends but her root is still down because we really do not want to lift that. You do not want to look as if your tendrils are flying away. You want them to work with your hair. Then you spray and kind of work it out. Just make sure to hold that curling iron down flush. You want that root to be flush to where you are. You do not want them to pop. You want them to be soft and simple and to add a little bit of elegance to the style and not take over the style. And that is how you do the tendrils on short curly hair updos."
